SEDA

SEDA provides support to SMEs in the areas of finance and legal, human resource development, productivity management and technology, marketing and quality management systems. SEDA covers up to 90% of the cost of these services for qualifying SMEs. SABRI has established a relationship with SEDA in order to facilitate access to these resources for SMEs and NGOs that have completed a business diagnostic with SABRI to determine the business needs. SABRI is also accredited as a service provider with SEDA.

NYDA

The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) is a South African-based agency established primarily to tackle challenges that the nation’s youth are faced with. The NYDA was established by an Act of parliament, Act no 54 of 2008. The institution was established to be a single, unitary structure, established to address youth development issues at National, Provincial and Local government level. The existence of the NYDA should be located within the broad context of South Africa’s development dynamics. Similar to many developing countries, South Africa has a large population of youth, those between the ages 14-35 represent 42% of the total population. Given the youthful nature of the South African population much of the socio-economic challenges faced by the nation, i.e. poverty, inequality and joblessness, poor health, etc, are borne by the youth. The gravity of challenges South Africa is faced with, require multi-pronged efforts, that simultaneously promote the development of sustainable livelihoods, reduce poverty, inequality and prioritise the development of policies which create an enabling environment for youth development.The NYDA plays a leading role in ensuring that all major stakeholder’s, i.e government, the private sector and civil society, prioritise youth development and contribute towards identifying and implementing lasting solutions which address youth development challenges.

Ackerman Foundation

In 1997 Raymond and Wendy Ackerman celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the founding of Pick n Pay. To commemorate this occasion and to honour and perpetuate the name of Raymond and Wendy Ackerman, as well as to ensure the ongoing philosophy of philanthropy, the Board of Directors of Pick n Pay Stores Limited resolved to set aside a substantial sum of money to create a fund for philanthropic purposes. The Ackerman Pick n Pay Foundation was duly established as a Corporate Foundation. The Ackerman Pick n Pay Foundation was founded to make meaningful contributions to our communities through various philanthropic ventures. Pick n Pay was one of the first companies in South Africa to make a strong commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility. This is one of the pillars on which the company philosophy is founded. Together with SABRI the foundation was able to implement a bakery project in the Community of Manenberg.
